Description: Marquee Signs

The largest entertainment facility in the Northeast, Yonkers Raceway combines the thrill of live harness racing with the excitement of video gaming, and a variety of dining experiences.  After a multi-million dollar renovation and expansion, the transformation was not complete without dynamic exterior signage.

NW Sign Industries’ artists sketched one-of-a-kind designs that honored the Victorian roots of the historic, “Empire City Trotting Club”.  The designs for signage adorning the Raceway’s “Gotham Palace” addition, a video gaming parlor, reflected the Art Deco-themed interior.

A total of six dazzling signs were created, the largest a staggering 27 feet high by 85 feet long.  The other signs measured in at 17’ x 53’, 8’ x 18’ and 18” x 24’.  Two of the signs weigh in at 15,000 lbs. each.

The system of electric building signs is comprised of internally lit channel letters, custom fabricated polished aluminum Art Deco “fans”.  Custom fabricated aluminum decorative lattice framework and Deco geometric forms are highlighted with exposed neon illuminations.
